FLORA

A fundamental requirement of research comprehensive description of plants occuring in a particular area containing scientific names, often local names, precise description, geographical distribution with illustrations and uses.

World : Over 2,50,000 spp. of vascular plants (flowering plants and ferns)
Nepal : About 6,500 spp. 10th in Asia and 27th in the world.

15,000 in Royal Botanic Garden , Edinburgh
