Abstract

At least 282 endophytic fungi were obtained from Taxus wallichiana twig samples acquired from 11 locations in nine different representative districts of Nepal. The most representative fungal genera isolated from the samples were Xylaria, Phoma, Fusarim, Trichoderma, Pestalotiopsis, Papularia, Nigrospora and Seiridim. About 5% of these endophytes produced more than trace amount of taxol (50ng/1).
