Cytogenetical Study of Some Exotic Garden Plants of Kathmandu Valley

This paper deals with the chromosome number and chromosome morphology of eight exotic monocot plants, which have gained popularity in the gardens of Kathmandu valley Detail karyomorphological studies in these plants are less known. Present cytogenetical observations in these taxa viz. Agapanthus aficanus, Crinum giganteum, Crinum bulbispermum, Hippeastrum vittatum, Hymenocallis rotata, Iris tectorum, Neomarica gracilis and Zephyranthes candida are dealt with here and studied their interrelationship.
